Five to be Inducted into UW-La Crosse Wall of Fame

La Crosse, Wis. - Five former University of Wisconsin-La Crosse student-athletes will be inducted into the university's Wall of Fame Saturday, October 27.  The five alumni to be inducted include: Josh Chelf (2005-08); Amanda Medendorp (2005-08); Angela Muenkel(1997-99); Kristen Nokleby (1992-95); and Sally Wenzel (2000-03). UWL's Wall of Fame pays tribute to former athletes and coaches for their exceptional ability and enhancement of school tradition.

This year's inductees will be honored with an induction ceremony at 7 p.m. Saturday, October 27, in the Mitchell Hall Gymnasium.  All five inductees will also be honored at halftime of the UWL/UW-Platteville football game Saturday, October 27.

 

Amanda Medendorp

Medendorp was named the WIAC Diver of the Meet at the league championships three times in her career (2006, 2007, 2008), one of two in conference history to earn the honor.  She swept the one and three-meter diving titles in those three years in winning six league titles overall.  Named to the WIAC All-Time Team, Medendorp was on two (2005, 2008) teams to win the league title.  She earned WIAC Diver of the Week honors nine times in her career.
 
She earned seven NCAA Division III All-America accolades for the Eagles, including a career-best fourth-place finish in the one-meter competition in 2007.  Medendorp placed fifth (2006), eighth (2008) and 16th (2005) in the one-meter at the national championships.  She also earned three career All-America awards in the three-meter, placing ninth twice (2006, 2007) and 10th (2005). 
 
UWL placed in the top-24 at the NCAA III Championships in Medendorp's four seasons, including 13th in 2008, 15th in 2005, 17th in 2006 and 24th in 2007.  The Eagles won two (2005, 2008) WIAC titles.
 
She earned her bachelor's degree (2009) in physical education teaching.
