Monday Message from Dr. Curry

August 25, 2024

Good evening panthers.

This is Dr. Curry with your Sunday night update. Thank you to all of the families that joined us Thursday for open house.  Special thanks to Mr. Baker and Grimsley High School's drum line.  A few reminders before you go to sleep,

Please ensure you have labeled all of your students personal belongings and book bags with transportation information.  Avoid allowing students to bring unnecessary electronics such as video games to school. Teachers will not be responsible for the care of these items.

Drop off for car riders will be in the front of the school, 325 Gordon Street, no earlier than 7:05am. There will only be one line each morning to ensure the safety of all of our scholars.  All students must remain in cars with parents until staff members are outside and ready to receive the scholars.  We do not have staff available to monitor students before that time.

Kinder parents, if you would like to walk your scholars in school for the first three days, you may do so.  Please park your car at the top deck, come inside, say your goodbyes outside of the classroom door and do not linger in hallways.  We ask that you follow these guidelines for safety protocols and so that we can quickly get your scholars acclimated to our routines and procedures.

Students under the age of 10 who ride the bus must have parents waiting at the bus stop before the bus arrives.  If you have not been approved for transportation you will need to pick your scholar up in the car rider line at 2:05pm daily until you have been approved for transportation.  If you need to pick students up early, this will need to occur before 1:45pm.

Please display your car rider pass in your window each morning and afternoon.  If you do not have a pass, you will need to park in the upper lot and come inside with your license to get a pass.  If someone else is picking up your scholar, please send them a picture of your pass on their cell phone.

Panthers, please ensure you are preparing for school each night and going to bed early enough to get a minimum of 8 hours of sleep.  Let's have a great week at Parkview Expressive Arts Elementary where we are teaching our scholars to Jump for Gold!...Go Panthers
