Guilford County Championships Cross-Country

A round of applause goes to Elle Dawson, a remarkable freshman, who triumphed at the 2024 Guilford County Championship in cross country on Wednesday, finishing with an impressive time of 18:05.

In a thrilling race, Dawson showcased her determination and skill, leading the pack and ultimately securing her victory. After the race, she expressed her gratitude and mindset going into the competition: “Honestly, I was just trying to do my best, I was trying to lead the race and come out near the top. I’m just grateful for the opportunity to be out there and to race on this course.”

Dawson’s victory not only marks a significant achievement in her athletic career but also ends Page’s Allie Kinlaw’s quest to become the second four-time winner of the GCS Championships, a title previously held by former Ragsdale standout, Sara Platek.

As a freshman, Dawson’s remarkable performance has solidified her place in the history of Guilford County cross country, and we look forward to seeing her continued success in future competitions.
