Gateway Education Center and Bessemer Elementary Closed Thursday, June 11
Gateway Education Center and Bessemer Elementary School will be closed Thursday, June 11 for students. Staff should report as usual.
The schools will be closed out of an abundance of caution while the city retests water in the surrounding area to make sure it is safe to drink.
The district is working closely with the water department, and appreciates their dedication to ensuring there is safe drinking water for students and staff at those two schools.
The schools are expected to reopen for students on Friday, June 12.
