GCS Names Angie Henry as Chief Financial Officer
Guilford County Schools (GCS) announced the appointment of Angie Henry as the chief financial officer on Thursday during the Board of Education meeting.
Henry has served GCS since 1995 in many capacities, including most recently as executive director of finance/assistant chief financial officer and director of accounting. Henry received her B.S. in accounting from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Henry’s appointment comes after the retirement of Sharon Ozment, who spent nearly 40 years working for GCS. While providing information, advice, assistance and recommendations to the superintendent, Board of Education and County Commissioners, Henry will direct and monitor the Financial Services Division, which includes accounting, accounts payable, budgeting, payroll, purchasing and more. Her appointment is effective July 1.
