GCS Receives Ten Communications Awards
Guilford County Schools (GCS) received 10 2011 Blue Ribbon Awards from the North Carolina School Public Relations Association. The awards were presented to members of the District Relations department at a ceremony and brunch on Friday at the Hilton Garden Inn in Durham.
Guilford County Schools received awards for the following:
- Excellence in Writing: GCS Records Low Dropout Rate, eSchool News Columns, Don't Wait - Act
- Electronic Media: Service Learning
- Identity/Image Package: Celebrating Excellence, State of Our Schools
- Marketing: Thank a Teacher and Magnet Fair Campaign
- Photography: iPad Reaction
- Internet Website
"We're proud to have our work evaluated and recognized by leaders in school public relations," said Communications Coordinator Lillian Govus. "These awards represent the dedication of a strong team of professionals within our district who are incredibly passionate about sharing the great stories of our 73,000 students and 10,000 employees."
