Board Approves Changes to Electoral Voting Precincts
The Guilford County Board of Education voted Tuesday to accept Map 5 as the basis for the electoral voting precincts used to select board members. A list of high schools by district under Map 5 can be found here.
The redistricting was necessary to reflect changes from the latest Census data, which showed a population imbalance that required correction. Two public forums were held to gather community feedback on the changes.
Eleven members serve on the Board of Education, including two at-large members who can be elected from any district. The changes must be approved by the U.S. Department of Justice before implementation.
The board's actions do not affect any student assignment boundaries.
