Weekly Announcements 2/26/2023

Good Evening Tiger Families, this is Principal Chase Arrington at Western Guilford Middle School with announcements for the week of Monday, February 27^th – Friday, March 3^rd.

This is a reminder that we do not accept Door Dash/Uber Eats or other food deliveries for students. We only accept what the parent/guardian personally brings to the school.

Tuesday, February 28^th our music department will travel with Ms. Sims and Ms. Kouba to Alderman Elementary to discuss their rising 6^th grade transition. If you have children in the 5^th grade at Alderman, please discuss with them the opportunity to join Tiger Nation’s Music Program.

Tuesday, February 28^th, students will receive 3^rd quarter progress reports for each class. If you have questions about student current grades, please reach out to your child’s teacher for a conference.

Tuesday, February 28^th, we will have our Monthly School Leadership/Lighthouse Team Meeting from 3:50pm – 5:50pm in the media center. If you have questions or concerns, please lift those to your respective grade level parent representative.

Thursday, March 2^nd, 7^th grade math will have their Interim Assessment. Please ensure students are at school by 8:20am so we can begin promptly at 8:45am.

Friday, March 3^rd, 6^th grade will travel to the Greensboro Coliseum for the ACC Tournament. If you have questions regarding the field trip, please reach out to your child’s homeroom teacher.

A few upcoming reminders:

The PTO will host a dance for 6^th grade Friday, March 24^th, 2023 from 6pm – 8pm. The cost is $5. Students who receive ISS or OSS between February 27^th – March 24^th will not be eligible to attend the dance.

Tryouts for Spring Sports begin Monday, March 6^th. All WGMS Athletic Packets are due to Coach Sexton/Coach Phillips no later than Thursday, March 2^nd at 3:30pm. Pick up time for tryouts is no later than 5:30pm.
