Weekly Announcements 4/2/23

Good Evening Tiger Families, this is Principal Chase Arrington at Western Guilford Middle School bringing you announcements for the week of Monday, April 3^rd – Friday, April 7^th.

Tuesday, April 4^th, students will take the English Language Arts 3^rd Quarter Interim Assessment from 8:45 until 11:30am. Please ensure students arrive on campus by 8:20am so we may begin at 8:45. If students arrive late, they will have to remain in the office until the testing session is complete. They will make up the assessment later.

Tuesday, April 4^th we will host our 3^rd Quarter Report Card Pick Up and Student Led Conferences from 4:30pm – 7pm. This is a flowing event and you may arrive between 4:30 – 7 to review work from your child and pick up their report card. Once you arrive, you will go to your student’s grade level hallway. After you pick up your child’s report card, you will return to the cafeteria to pick up Chick-Fil-A for your family. Food will be first come first serve. At Student Led Conferences, this is for you to discuss how your child is performing. If you desire a teacher conference, you may sign up for a later date with the teacher.

Wednesday, April 5th, 6^th, and 8^th Grade students will take the 3^rd Quarter Math Interim Assessment from 8:45 until 11:30am. Please ensure students arrive on campus by 8:20am so we may begin at 8:45. If students arrive late, they will have to remain in the office until the testing session is complete. They will make up the assessment later.

Thursday, April 6^th we will have our next Out of the Garden-Fresh Mobile Food Market beginning at 12pm until 1:30pm. Please enter from Lindley Road.

Western Guilford High School will host a Cheerleader Interest Meeting Thursday, April 6^th from 3:50 – 4:20pm. If your child is unable to attend, please scan the QR code on the attached flyer.

This week in athletics:

Wednesday, April 5^th Softball and Baseball will travel to Mendenhall for games starting at 4:45pm.

Also, on Wednesday, April 5^th, Girls and Boys Tracks will travel to Page High School for a meet against Mendenhall starting at 4:45pm. Please come out and support your Tiger Athletics.

Friday, April 7^th, schools will be closed in honor of Good Friday. Spring break begins Monday, April 10^th – Friday, April 14^th. Students will return to school Monday, April 17^th.

PTO will host a 7^th grade dance Friday, April 21^st from 6pm-8pm. If students receive ISS or OSS between March 27^th – Friday April 21^st they are not eligible to attend the dance. The dance costs $5 and is cash only. Concessions will be sold at this event.
