Good Evening Tiger Families, this is Principal Chase Arrington at Western Guilford Middle School with announcements for the week of Monday, May 8th – Friday, May 12th.
There were students who received letters last week regarding Summer Learning. Summer Learning will begin June 20th – July 27th. The programming will be held at WGMS Monday – Thursday. Students living in district will receive transportation. Students receiving invitations were chosen from our Winter Assessment Data. If you have questions, please reach out to Mr. Thomas, Ms. Watson, or Mr. Arrington.
May is Mental Health Awareness Month and Mental Health refers to our emotional and social well-being and impacts how we think, feel, and behave. It plays a role in connecting with others, making decisions, handling stress, and many other aspects of daily life. When you’re mentally healthy, you can enjoy your life and the people in it, feel good about yourself, keep up good relationships, and deal with stress.
This Mental Health Month, challenge yourself to examine your world and how it can affect your overall health. Look around, look within – from your neighborhood to genetics, many factors come into play when it comes to our mental health.
If you or your child face challenges and need assistance in accessing resources, please reach out to an administrator, school counselor, school psychologist, or social work. We are here to assist and help!
Teacher Appreciation Week is celebrated Monday, May 8th – Friday, May 12th. Please show your appreciation for your child’s teacher by doing a nice gesture this week. These can include a greeting card, gift card, their favorite snacks, or donating to their classroom.
