Good Evening Tiger Families. This is Principal Chase Arrington at Western Guilford Middle School bringing announcements for the week of Monday, April 1st – Friday, April 5th.

I hope everyone had an enjoyable, restful, and safe Spring Break. We look forward to students returning Tuesday, April 2nd.

Autism Acceptance Month:
April marks Autism Acceptance Month, with World Autism Day occurring on April 2 every year. The month is meant to be a time for uplifting autistic voices and sharing in the community's joy.
Autism spectrum disorders (ASD) are a diverse group of conditions. They are characterized by some degree of difficulty with social interaction and communication. Other characteristics are atypical patterns of activities and behaviors, such as difficulty with transition from one activity to another, a focus on details and unusual reactions to sensations. 1 out of every 100 students identify having autism. Western Guilford Middle School supports this diverse community and continues to improve our efforts to support ALL students.

Interim Assessment:
Thursday, April 4th all students will take their ELA Interim Assessment. We plan to start testing by 8:50am. Please have students arrive on time to not have to complete a make-up test on a separate day.
