Good evening Simkins families. This is your assistant principal Shannon Vaka. I just have a few quick reminders for you on this Sunday night.
Remember that there is no school tomorrow in observance of Labor Day. We will see our scholars back in the building on Tuesday morning.
The timing of our car rider line (in the morning and afternoon) is improving each and every day. Parents we appreciate you partnering with us but we are really going to start encouraging independence when we welcome our scholars back on Tuesday. We will start our day at 7:35a each morning and we would love to see our littlest scholars walking to class without assistance. We know that they can do it!!
As a reminder, you should not plan to park in the upper lot and send your scholars across the bottom lot to get into school. We also HIGHLY discourage parents dropping of their students on E. Lee St. Please stay in the car rider line as it moves toward the building—this is the safest route for everyone!
We also ask the parents remain in their cars for afternoon car rider pick up. We cannot allow walk ups at this time. This becomes a safety issue as we have other children seated in the holding area. We have been finishing up with our afternoon car rider line around 2:35p so definitely plan to be on campus before that time. Parents of students who are late being picked up will be asked to come into the office to sign them out. We appreciate your help with this.
One cards will go home on Tuesday. Please remind your scholar to wear this each and every day to school. They will be scanning on the buses, in the cafeteria and in the media center. We are working on taking pictures for our Kindergarten One Cards. We hope to have those printed in the next week or so.
It is going to be another great week in the Shark Tank! Thanks for all that you do to make Simkins a great place to learn!
Go Sharks!
