Hello Bison Families,

This is Principal Nixon-Green calling from High Point Central with your updates for the week.

There will be a 9th grade parent night on Tuesday in the media center.  Freshman parents will have an opportunity to receive their student’s report card early to ask questions and schedule conferences, if needed.  As a reminder, we have 2 counselors dedicated to freshman this year including Ms. Eldridge and Mr. Rubenstein and the Freshman administrator is Mr. Glenn.

On Wednesday, we will host an interest meeting for students interested in participating in the Draelos Scholars program.  This is a summer program for rising juniors and seniors interested in stem courses.  Students will have an opportunity to work directly with professors at A & T state university as well UNC Greensboro on hands on research projects for 4-5 weeks during the summer.  If you are interested in learning more about this opportunity, but unable to attend please contact Ms. Norman Rogers for additional information.

Report cards for all students will be distributed on Wednesday.  If you have any questions or would like to schedule a conference, please contact your child’s teacher of their guidance counselor should you need assistance.

Senior parents, Herff Jones will be on campus on November 14th during all of the lunches in the parlor and again on Saturday, November 17th from 10am-12.  If students would like to order and use the orange “ONE STOP” form along with the triplicate Herff Jones order form, the deposit will be $60.00. Students do have the option to order only the cap and gown unit at $55.00.  Students can purchase by mail or online. Prices will increase on December 1st .  We have several packets in the counseling office if your student needs one.

Our group photo of the Class of 2019 will be taken on this Friday, November 16th, at 3:30 PM in our main gym.

If you have not already done so, this week is the perfect time to order our 2019 yearbook for $80 by turning in $10 to our main office or room 206 to lock into this price and then paying the rest by March 1st. You may also order online at jostensyearbooks.com, or you may make payments at k12paymentcenter.com. The price will later jump to $85, so be sure to lock into our $80 price now!

And great news, HPC has been selected as a GCS Signature School based on our recent and continuous academic progress.  We’re one of 2 schools in the county to receive this honor and we contribute it to the dedication and hard work of our staff.  Please help us spread the Great news- Go Bison

Don’t forget Monday is a holiday and no school for students- Happy Veterans Day to those who have and continue to serve our country.

Have a great evening!
