GCS Schools Celebrate Character Day

GCS schools and students will join more than 81,000 groups in 121 countries around the world celebrating the third annual Character Day on Thursday, Sept. 22.

Schools across the district will participate in a variety of events that recognize the importance of developing character strengths such as resilience, kindness, grit, courage and integrity.

“We want our young people to realize who they are as individuals and how each person has something to contribute to making this world a better place,” says Charlos Banks, executive director of student services and character development. “GCS continues to be a National District of Character, a school district that emphasizes the importance of educating the mind and heart of each and every child.”
