GCS Celebrates National Red Ribbon Week

Guilford County Schools students will celebrate National Red Ribbon Week Oct. 24 to 28, with the theme “Respect Yourself. Be Drug Free!”

Red ribbons will be displayed in middle schools, high schools and district offices as visible symbols of the nation’s largest, substance-abuse prevention campaign. Schools will also host a variety of activities including drug-free pledge stations, themed dress-up days, drug fact announcements and informational tables at lunch.

At the end of the week, on Oct. 28, Penn-Griffin School for the Arts students will also participate in a march through parts of High Point to promote the theme of self-respect through healthy and drug-free living from 1:30 to 3 p.m.
