Quick, Penn-Griffin Honored for Contributions to the Community
Guilford County Board of Education member Amos Quick and Penn-Griffin School for the Arts were recently honored for their contributions to the community during the Welfare Reform Liaison Project’s annual Esther Awards Luncheon.
Quick was honored with the Hadassah award for his service to the community and its young people.
The Ella Fitzgerald Award went to Penn-Griffin School for the Arts for the school’s contributions to the arts community in Guilford County.
“Penn-Griffin School for the Arts exemplifies all that is good both scholastically and culturally,” wrote President and CEO Dr. Irish Spencer. “The school’s commitment to excellence in education makes it one of the premier educational institutions in Guilford County as well as across the nation.”
The awards were two of seven given at the annual awards luncheon. WRLP’s mission is to provide services that will enable economically disadvantaged individuals and families to move toward self-sufficiency.
