GCS Teacher Appointed Chair of NCMEA Technology Committee
A Guilford County Schools teacher will help guide educators across the state regarding the use of new technologies in their classrooms.
Howie Ledford, an electronic music teacher at Weaver Academy, was recently named chair of the North Carolina Music Educators Association’s (NCMEA) technology committee. The committee informs members of developments in technology for music education and can be used as a resource for questions about technology in classrooms.
“I am happy and humbled to be chosen to fulfill this position with the NCMEA, and I look forward to serving my fellow music educators,” said Ledford.
NCMEA is one of 11 state affiliates of the Southern Division the National Association for Music Education. The mission of NCMEA is to promote music as a fundamental component of education and to provide opportunities for lifelong learning by supporting teachers, students and communities in developing and fostering excellence in music.
