Faith Partnership Summit Connects Schools and Faith Leaders

Guilford County Schools principals and administrators joined members of the faith community and nonprofit organizations at the 2017 GCS Faith Partnership Summit Monday.

The Faith Partnership Summit, sponsored by GCS and Say Yes to Education Guilford, is a renewed effort, designed to engage local faith leaders and show how they and their congregations can help support and enhance education for the children in their communities.

Attendees participated in a series of workshops focused on partnerships between schools and faith communities, including an explanation of district policies and procedures surrounding faith partners, how to establish an impactful partnership, resources to help reinforce parent and community engagement in schools, a roundtable discussion with the superintendent and more.

“We know through experience what powerful partners our faith community can be for our students and our schools,” says Wanda Mobley, GCS director of communications. “This summit allowed us to have an open discussion with schools and community partners about how we can best help our students soar to greatness.”
