What should I bring to SLCs?
Student Led Conferences: What is it?
An opportunity for you:
- to be the center of attention
- to share your successes and struggles from the first quarter
- to reflect and set goals for the second quarter
- to be encouraged and supported by your parents/mentors and teachers
What should I expect?
- Students lead discussions about 1st quarter progress(students do most of the talking)
- Conferences should last 20-30 minutes
- Teachers and parents listen and ask questions
- Conferences should be part reflective (What has gone well? What could use work?)
- Conferences should be part prescriptive (What do I need to do to get to where I want to be?)
What should I bring?
- A positive attitude
- A willingness to be open about how things are going in school
- Honest reflection and ideas about goals for next quarter
- Artifacts or reflection documents from each class which represent things that went well and things that could use some work
